OVERVIEW

As part of the Vita Motus design team, HNZLR delivered sculptural and graphic detailing during development of EDC Las Vegas’ Bass Pod stage. In the concept and fabrication phases, HNZLR helped steer multiple iterations of the design toward final realization, including development of a spatial VR presentation, cinematics, and technical drawings.

SCULPTURAL RELIEF

Key anatomical components— such as the striated torsos, articulated arms, and helmet-like cranial motif— were sculpted with an emphasis on balancing bold expression and structural readability. The proportions were intentionally optimized for large-scale fabrication while retaining the intended otherworldly presence and scale.

GRAPHIC EDGE DETAILING

A neon-edge graphic language was developed to wrap the sculptural forms, using a system of parallel offsets and justified alignments reminiscent of both engineered codes and alien glyph systems. The approach drew from architectural discipline to produce a typographic skin that visually reinforces the geometry while extending the narrative identity of the Bass Pod.
