PROJECT OVERVIEW

While serving the Vita Motus team, HNZLR contributed critical design process to the main stage for Symbiosis and Global Eclipse Gathering. Employing Grasshopper’s computational modeling, HNZLR developed a series of parametric scripts that facilitated the form finding process, the jittered sinusoidal fabric panel distribution, the rolled steel tubing, and metal sleeve brackets joining the structure. These parametric solutions saved us countless hours during revisions. The resulting design resembles an array of arcing, pointed feathers clad in precious metal.

FABRIC INNOVATION

The design’s outer fabric shell is with composed of laminated metallic mylar upon nylon rip-stop. HNZLR met personally with local fabric vendors in Los Angeles to realize this unique lamination process never seen before on a festival stage.

BUILD DIRECTION

HNZLR joined the Vita Motus team on-site and assisted in build direction, offering dimension clarification and digital visualization for the build team to expedite their process.
